Speech and Language Assessments and Therapy

The ReMynd remote speech and language evaluation utilizes formal and informal procedures to establish a baseline of the child’s communication skills and abilities and to determine the best course of treatment.

The most common assessment areas for pediatric speech and language evaluations may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Vocabulary and semantics
  • Grammar
  • Syntax
  • Word-finding
  • Language-based learning
  • Auditory processing and receptive language
  • Articulation
  • Motor planning for speech sound production
  • Phonological processing
  • Fluency of speech
  • Vocal quality
  • Social language

Adult assessments address speech/language and communication functions in adults and can include testing in the areas of listening comprehension, speech production and motor-planning, word-retrieval and memory, fluency of speech, vocal quality, and swallowing.

The primary purpose of a speech and language evaluation is to establish a baseline of skills and to determine goals for an appropriate course of treatment. Speech and Language Pathologists utilize case history and past medical information, standardized testing measures, and informal observations to obtain data regarding the individual’s level of functioning .

Speech and Language Therapy Treatment Consultation

Practical speech and language therapy techniques that can be easily incorporated into a daily routine by a caregiver will be provided after the evaluation.

In most instances, the results of the comprehensive assessment will yield immediate information and valuable clues regarding what you can do with your loved one(s) on a daily basis to facilitate improvement in communication functions.

On-going consultation and therapy guidance on a monthly basis for a total of 3 months post initial speech and language assessment can be provided, and is discounted if invoiced as part of the comprehensive speech and language assessment.

As many online 1:1 therapy sessions as desired can be provided directly from an SLP or SLP aide in addition to the monthly consultation. This is done on a case-by-case basis, per request, for an additional fee per each session.

The goal is to educate and empower you to learn, understand, and utilize the basic techniques and best practices in which to facilitate communication each and every day, all day long.

Our remote consultations provide comprehensive, specialized, in-depth recommendations regarding speech-language services (assessment and treatment), as well as what type of carryover activities you can do with your children at home.

  • Social Communication (Pragmatic) Disorders
